Guided by research from Clinical Psychologist Professor Julia Rucklidge, the course targets professionals and general learners seeking to improve personal wellbeing using evidence-based frameworks, from mindfulness and nutrition to exercise and creative activities. Flexible scheduling allows you to study at your own pace during the course timeframe.
Course Content
- Introduction to wellbeing and the role of lifestyle
- Social connections and social media
- Being present (mindfulness practices)
- Physical interventions: exercise, sleep, cold and heat therapy
- Enhancing wellbeing: music, arts, pet ownership
- Nature and environments: influence of green/blue/urban spaces
- Biological and sociological factors in maintaining a healthy lifestyle
- Developing strategies for personal and others' wellbeing
What you need to know first
If under 20: University Entrance or equivalent
If 20 or older: 20+ entry (must be NZ or Australian citizen/resident, or citizen of Cook Islands, Tokelau, or Niue; and 20 years or older by course start)
Confidence in English (listening, reading, writing)
Laptop/desktop computer and reliable internet connection
