Students will learn about palliative care, safety, human anatomy, professional and ethical behavior, and cultural aspects such as hauroa. The program includes 100 hours of supervised work placement to provide real-world experience, enabling graduates to work as caregivers, support workers, and healthcare assistants. Delivered fully online over 23 weeks with 70 credits, the course is designed for students aged 16 or older, emphasizing holistic patient needs and cultural sensitivity in a nurturing learning environment.

What you need to know first

Be 16 years of age or older

Compulsory criminal record/Police check

Recommended completion of NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2)

Recommended minimum Step 4 Literacy and Step 5 Numeracy on Adult Learning Progressions or equivalent

Interview and short statement of intent

Access to a laptop/desktop with internet and minimum 10 inch screen

IELTS academic score 5.0 with no band less than 5.0 or equivalent (for international students)
