Advance professional health practice and leadership
Students will deepen professional expertise, expand leadership abilities, and apply advanced knowledge in health science to real-world settings.

Develop research and analytical skills
Graduates will design, implement, and critically evaluate research projects relevant to health science and health management.

Interdisciplinary critical reflection
Students will demonstrate the ability to engage collaboratively across health disciplines, critically reflect on practice, and synthesise learning to address complex health challenges.
What You're Signing Up For
The Master of Health Science at EIT is an 18-month, 180 credit Level 9 programme that advances the practice and knowledge of interdisciplinary health professionals, health service managers, and allied healthcare professionals. Through a blend of online and face-to-face workshops, students engage with key health topics, research, and critical analysis. The programme is designed for flexible study from across New Zealand and includes multiple study pathways culminating in a thesis or research project. Graduates are prepared for advanced roles in allied health, health management, health policy, research, and promotion.

- Health treatment and prevention of health disparities
- Advanced practice and critical analysis
- Healthcare and health outcomes improvement (local and global contexts)
- Health policy and management
- Research methodologies (project, dissertation, thesis)
- Applied research in health science
What you need to know first
A NZQF listed Bachelor’s or higher level degree (or equivalent) in a health-related field with a minimum B average; OR
A degree or equivalent professional qualification in another field with evidence of work experience in a health related field (subject to interview/portfolio); OR
Completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science with a minimum B average; OR
At the discretion of EIT for compelling cases not covered above.
