The Graduate Certificate in Health Science is designed for individuals who already hold a degree in another discipline or have considerable work experience in health, sport, or recreation. It enables students to gain a qualification in health science by selecting from a variety of courses from the Bachelor of Health Science or Bachelor of Sport, Exercise and Health. This programme is ideal for those seeking to upskill, change career direction, or prepare for further postgraduate study in health sciences.

Course Content

  • Select four 15-point courses (total 60 points), mostly at level 7.
  • Addiction Practice (Theories and Principles, Assessment, Recovery, Gambling Studies)
  • Psychology (Positive Psychology, Critical Evaluation, Behaviour Analysis, Emotions and Human Nature, Health Psychology, Psychological Intervention, Cultural and Social Aspects)
  • Renal Science (Renal Science, Health Culture & Context, Research Methods, Pharmacology)
  • Other approved undergraduate health science or sport and recreation courses

What you need to know first

A bachelor’s degree OR relevant professional qualification or experience approved as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

For some clinical courses, you must meet the Bachelor of Health Science subject area requirements.

International: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall, no band less than 6.0, or equivalent.
