What You're Signing Up For

This one-year, part-time certificate programme is designed for those looking to build a career in organic horticulture. Students will learn about organic certification principles, soil and nutrient management, biodiversity, and organic crop production through both online and face-to-face instruction, with practical workshops and field trips in the organic industries. The course combines regional flexibility with nation-wide expertise via collaboration between EIT, Wintec, and Toi Ohomai.

What you need to know first

NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Māori or equivalent

Level 3 qualification in Horticulture or Agriculture or evidence of equivalent skills and knowledge

Evidence of ability to complete academic and any other course requirements

English language: IELTS 5.5 (no band < 5) or NZ Certificate in English Language Level 3 or an equivalent English proficiency outcome
