Develop harvesting or silviculture knowledge
Graduates will develop specific harvesting or silviculture knowledge to work as a professional within the forestry industry.

Formal recognition of forestry skills and knowledge
Gain credit recognition towards New Zealand Certificates in Forest Harvesting Operations or Forestry Operations (Levels 3 and 4).
What You're Signing Up For
These forestry training schemes provide practical, operational-level skills and knowledge for people engaged in the forestry industry, especially in harvesting and silviculture operations. The schemes are made of NZQA-approved unit standards, with students choosing blocks of 5–39 credits based on their needs. Pathways are available to Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications. The courses recognise prior experience and enable students to develop or formalise skills required for safe and productive work in various forestry roles. Schemes are available for both harvesting and silviculture operations, with flexible enrolment suited to employed workers.

What you need to know first
At least 16 years old at programme commencement
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level
Physically able to complete programme-specific outcomes
Suitably employed or engaged in a forestry based activity directly relevant to the selected training scheme (access to practical experience)
