Learn and apply a variety of cooking methods and techniques in a commercial kitchen.

Be able to prepare and cook local, international, and Asian dishes as well as hot and cold desserts.

Develop skills in plating and presenting dishes to a professional standard.
This programme helps secondary school students advance their culinary abilities, learning to prepare a range of dishes and desserts in a commercial kitchen. It covers culinary theory, nutrition, various cooking and presentation methods, and prepares students for careers or further study in the hospitality industry. It is delivered in partnership with secondary schools as part of the Waikato Trades Academy.
