Explain New Zealand food legislation relevant to food operators and apply it correctly in the workplace.

Recognise foodborne illness hazards such as microbes, physical, chemical and allergen risks and understand control measures.

Implement practical steps to prevent cross contamination and foodborne illnesses in food preparation and serving.
This one-day course teaches food operators how to handle and prepare food safely, understand and prevent food-borne illnesses, apply New Zealand food safety legislation, and minimize risks associated with food hazards. Successful completion awards a Wintec Food Safety for Food Operators Certificate of Completion recognized by employers across New Zealand. The course includes theory and multiple-choice tests requiring good English reading and writing skills, with training adapted to participants' backgrounds and experience.
