What You're Signing Up For

OSTC Hospitality (Level 2) - Cromwell provides secondary school students with the opportunity to earn the New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2) while learning practical, hands-on hospitality skills. The course covers food preparation, barista training, front of house service, knife skills, customer service, communication, and workplace health and safety. Primarily delivered on campus in Cromwell, this fully-funded course prepares students for further hospitality study or direct employment in cafés, restaurants, or as kitchen staff.

Course Content

  • Prepare and cook café-style food using a variety of methods (frying, baking, boiling, poaching, steaming, grilling)
  • Learn to prepare and serve espresso coffees (barista skills)
  • Front of House restaurant service skills
