Competency in preparing, cooking and presenting a basic range of kai using different cooking methods.

Skills to perform basic front of house tasks including table and beverage services.
Subject to NZQA approval. Graduates will be able to work safely and hygienically in kitchens, prepare and present basic meals, perform front of house and table service tasks, provide customer service based on manaaki kaupapa, and work effectively in teams. This qualification provides pathways to higher level certificates in Cookery and Food and Beverage Service. The programme is delivered online with regional support and optional workshops at multiple regional campuses. It is not open to international students.
