This course requires 36 hours per week

Students will be able to proficiently provide service in cafés and restaurants, covering food preparation, barista techniques, and basic customer care.

Graduates will understand and employ health and safety requirements within a commercial kitchen and hospitality context.

Learners will develop practical skills to communicate and interact with customers to industry standards.
This programme equips students with the foundational skills required for successful employment in cafés, restaurants, and related hospitality environments. Covering both kitchen/back-of-house and front-of-house operations, the course includes hands-on learning in food preparation and service, barista techniques, kitchen hygiene, health and safety, and customer interaction. Students will also take part in culinary events, gain real-life work experience, and have the option to complete workplace-based training through a traineeship for those already employed in the industry.
What you need to know first
Be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences
Be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level
