This Level 4 certificate equips individuals working in or passionate about the organic primary sector with practical and theoretical skills to develop and monitor a production plan meeting organic standards. The course covers organic nutrient management, soil health, crop requirements, and hands-on growing of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Delivery is face-to-face, in a dynamic and practical environment, supported by experienced tutors, and includes opportunities to apply learning on personal or local organic farms. Graduates will have the capability to self-manage in the organic sector and may take on responsibility for others.

What you need to know first

Open Entry if WITT is satisfied the applicant can complete the programme requirements.

Literacy: 10 NCEA credits at Level 2 or above with 5 credits in reading and writing.

Numeracy: 10 NCEA credits at Level 1 or above.
