What You're Signing Up For

Livestock Production Systems teaches students to evaluate physical and environmental factors affecting animal production, understand livestock system stratification, population genetics application, animal physiology including digestive, reproductive systems and mammary glands, wool characteristics, and feed requirements. This 15-credit course offers practical knowledge with some in-person activities required on campus.

  • Principles of population genetics and application to livestock production
  • Structure and function of digestive systems, reproductive systems, and mammary glands of farmed livestock

  • Calculation of seasonal feed requirements for farmed animals and relation to feed supplies
