What You're Signing Up For
This 15-credit course provides hands-on experience in planning, conducting, and communicating field research, focusing on soil or ecological survey techniques. Students critically assess scientific literature, formulate hypotheses, conduct research projects, analyze data, and communicate findings to professional audiences. The course includes a mandatory week-long field trip in late January/early February, requiring on-campus presence for some activities. It is suitable for students with prior level 200 and 300 course credits in related disciplines such as Ecology, Soil Science, Physical Science, or Water Resources Management.
