What You're Signing Up For
This course prepares electricians, instrument technicians, and process workers to ensure workplace safety in potentially explosive environments by providing theoretical and practical knowledge needed to safely install, maintain, and test electrical equipment. The course is designed to fulfill statutory and industry requirements, particularly in oil and gas, petrochemical, and similar industries where explosive atmospheres may be present. It is nationally recognised and endorsed by the Electrical Workers Registration Board for hazardous areas endorsement.

What you need to know first
New Zealand Registered Electrician
OR Level 4 qualification in Industrial Measurement and Control
OR Electrical Inspector or Instrumentation Technician with experience in explosive atmospheres
OR New Zealand Registered Electrical Engineer or Registered Electrical Service Technician
Discretionary entry available for applicants working towards an appropriate electrical qualification/registration with relevant industry experience (subject to Programme Manager approval)
