What You're Signing Up For

This one-year full-time course provides the foundation needed to progress to an apprenticeship as an electrician. Students develop understanding of electrical theory, safety, and practical hands-on skills including basic electrical tasks, cable and equipment installation, working within electrical legislation, and applying safe working practices. Delivered by experienced tutors, the programme covers the full range of skills necessary for entry-level roles or apprenticeships in the electrical trades sector.

What you need to know first

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the programme start date (or provide a completed Early Release Exemption form).

Achieved NCEA Level 1 with Mathematics and English subjects, or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Special admission: 20 years or older with evidence of aptitude or appropriate experience.

Discretionary admission may be granted by the Relevant Academic Authority.
