What You're Signing Up For
The course trains students to safely and effectively maintain single phase, 230-volt electrical appliances, enabling them to be eligible for registration as an Electrical Appliance Service Person under New Zealand's Electrical Workers Registration Board. It includes practical assessment for EASQ registration and prepares for the ASPEQ exams required for full registration. The course includes maintaining appliances supplied via flexible cord and plug, disconnection and reconnection practices, and a theory workbook component to be completed prior to start. The course excludes exam fees which are payable separately to ASPEQ. All attendees must have current First Aid and CPR certification and obtain an EW Number for training verification purposes.

- Maintenance of single phase electrical appliances up to 230 volts supplied via flexible cord and plug
- Disconnection and reconnection of 230 volt appliances
- Practical assessment components signed off during sessions
- Theory workbook completion before start
- Preparation for Electrical Appliance Service Person registration and EWRB exam requirements
What you need to know first

All new electrical workers must apply for an EWRB EW Number before course start
