This course provides the practical skills assessment and safety training required for Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board. It covers both standard EAS registration and the 'endorsed to disconnect and reconnect' option. The course includes an approved first aid course and prepares students for the theory examination. Course completion results in Unitec submitting your assessment to EWRB and confirming your eligibility to sit the EWRB exam, which is conducted by ASPEQ.

  • Safety training (approved First aid course)
  • Preparation for theory exam (EAS class of registration)
  • Review of EWRB requirements and guidelines
  • Workplace safety and use of relevant PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Tool use: tester, wire strippers, various screwdrivers, diagonal cutters, electrician’s pliers
