Understand EWRB requirements for Associated Tradesperson electrical registration
Gain knowledge of electrical theory, regulations, and safety standards as required by the EWRB for Associated Tradespersons.

Undertake practical training and assessment in electrical installation and servicing for work permitted under the Associated Tradesperson registration.

What You're Signing Up For
This competency-based Unitec short course is approved by the Electrical Workers Registration Board and designed for Registered Plumbers and/or Gasfitters who wish to carry out authorised electrical work such as installing water heaters or servicing waste disposal units. It covers theory, regulations tuition, safe working practices, basic first aid, and cardiac-pulmonary resuscitation, as well as practical skills training and assessment required for the Associated Tradesperson class of EWRB registration. Successful completion of all assessments will partially fulfil EWRB requirements but does not include the written capstone examination.
Course Content
- Theory and regulations tuition for Associated Tradesperson (Plumber, Gasfitter and Plumber/Gasfitter) EWRB class
- Practical skill training and assessment
- Instruction in safe working practices, testing, basic first aid, and CPR (cardiac-pulmonary resuscitation)
- Practical assessment record submission to EWRB for eligibility to sit the exam
What you need to know first
Registered Plumber and/or Registered Gasfitter status (with registration from the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board).
Confirmation from EWRB of meeting entitlement criteria for this class of registration.
Certified ID document.
Completed EWRB practical assessment form.
EWRB number.
Payment of course fees.
