Maintain and Test Electrical Appliances
Gain the skills to safely maintain and test electrical appliances supplied by flexible cords or fixed-wired up to 230 volts.

Perform Appliance Disconnection and Reconnection
Be endorsed to disconnect and reconnect fixed-wired electrical appliances as per EWRB requirements.

Complete EWRB Practical Assessment
Undertake and complete the EWRB Electrical Appliance Serviceperson Endorsed (EASQ) practical assessment.
What You're Signing Up For
This part-time, 13-week course trains electrical industry professionals to safely maintain and test appliances supplied by flexible cords or fixed wiring up to 230 volts. The endorsement allows you to disconnect and reconnect fixed-wired appliances. You'll complete a practical assessment for the EWRB Electrical Appliance Serviceperson Endorsed (EASQ) and prepare for the theory exam, after which you must work under supervision and complete further requirements for full EWRB registration.

What you need to know first
You must already be working in the electrical industry.
General English proficiency: IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band lower than 5, or completed New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 3 with an appropriate endorsement, or equivalent as per NZQA.
