The UC Online Learning Design micro-credentials are nine-week, fully online courses designed for individuals looking to enter or upskill in instructional design and digital learning. Two main courses are available: Learning Design Principles (for newcomers) introduces teaching and learning theories, models like ADDIE, and foundational design knowledge. Learning Design with AI (for experienced practitioners or graduates of the first course) explores applying AI tools in online course creation, including hands-on experience and the consideration of ethical, cultural, and best-practice issues. Courses are delivered flexibly, with deadlines for assessments and four scheduled intakes each year. Graduates acquire skills in user-focused online learning design and AI integration, preparing them for roles in education, HR, training, or e-learning.
