CPA Economics and Markets introduces students to fundamental concepts in microeconomics and macroeconomics, including demand and supply, market structures, productivity, income distribution, and national economic measures. The course also provides training in statistical analysis methods commonly used in business and economics settings.

Course Content

  • Microeconomics: Demand and supply, elasticity, productivity, market structures, market failures
  • Macroeconomics: Income distribution, structure of the financial economy, calculation of national economic measures
  • Statistical analysis tools: Descriptive statistics, frequency distributions and probability, hypothesis testing, simple linear regression, correlation
  • Application of economic principles to private and public management of business, environmental, and social problems
