What You're Signing Up For

This 17-week (full-time) or up to 2-year (part-time) Level 4 certificate provides foundational creative digital skills and portfolio development. Students may focus on Communication Design (graphic design, digital photography, web design, animation) or Game Design (game environments, Unreal Engine, 3D art, narrative design). Pathways are available to degree-level design, visual arts, architectural studies, or a junior creative role.

  • Creative Digital Skills (digital design and photography or game content creation)
  • Creative Online Design (web/blogs or game environments/lighting)
  • Animation and Interactivity (animation, moving image or interactive narrative)
  • Symbolism and Identity (research on cultural motifs, particularly with iwi Māori focus)
  • Portfolio development for higher study/careers

Portfolio or creative work samples required

Interview may be required

International students require secondary school equivalence to NZ NCEA and evidence of English proficiency (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent)
