Designed for beginners or those looking to upskill, it teaches how to use digital devices for various photography types including portrait, product, still life, landscape, and more. The course covers camera manual modes, lighting, studio setup, post-production, and professional practices like pricing and copyright. Students develop creative and technical photography skills through a project-by-project structure, gaining fundamental knowledge for careers or hobbies in photography and related creative industries.

- Introduction to digital photography and use of digital devices
- Manual camera operation: aperture, shutter speed, ISO

What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 or equivalent
Applicants with relevant skills but no academic qualifications can apply for alternative entry
IELTS 5.5 Academic or equivalent for non-native English speakers unless University Entrance qualifications met
