What You're Signing Up For

The Master of Creative Practice at Ara offers experienced creative professionals—and recent graduates—a pathway to deepen their creative domain through advanced, independent, practice-based research. Students develop substantial, original works in areas such as music, drama, visual arts, design, film, writing, or any creative discipline, building on critical reflection and contemporary theory. Graduates are prepared for advanced roles in creative industries and can proceed to further study, such as doctoral qualifications.

  • Contemporary Theory (30 credits, Level 8)
  • Practice-Based Research Methods (30 credits, Level 8)
  • Practice-Based Thesis (120 credits, Level 9)

What you need to know first

Bachelor's degree or Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant creative field with a B+ average, or an established profile of professional practice or experience.

Applicants may be approved for alternative entry via relevant professional or work experience.
