What You're Signing Up For

This programme provides foundational knowledge and practical training in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying, designed to prepare students for apprenticeships or entry-level industry roles. Delivered in a purpose-built trades facility, the course covers up-to-date technology, safety skills, tools, regulatory and ethical considerations, and gives exposure to industry practices through direct learning with skilled tutors. Graduates are prepared to move into apprenticeships or work in supporting roles within the sector.

What you need to know first

Open entry, subject to demonstration of reasonable likelihood of success

Completion of three years of secondary education recommended

Preference given to candidates with NCEA Level 1 and/or 2 or Year 11/12 English and Mathematics

Must be physically able to carry out practical components

Drug screening as required by Wintec's policy
