What You're Signing Up For
The Building and Construction (Level 3) programme at the Waikato Trades Academy (Wintec | Te Pūkenga) emphasises practical, project-based learning, where theory is directly applied to construction projects. Students gain industry-relevant, transferable skills sought in the building trade sector, preparing them for entry to apprenticeships or employment.

- Undertake a Stage 3 BCATS project
- Safe workplace practices and health & safety culture in a BCATS environment
- Communication and collaborative work in BCATS projects
- Selecting and using materials for a Stage 3 BCATS project
- Select, use, and maintain tools, equipment and machinery for BCATS projects
What you need to know first
To move to year two, at least 80% of the available credits in year one must be completed. Otherwise, entry may be at the discretion of the WTA.
