What You're Signing Up For

This New Zealand Certificate course provides broad-based training in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying to prepare students for apprenticeship. It covers practical skills such as using and maintaining plumbing tools, positioning and installing drainage pipes using laser levels, installing plumbing fixtures, water pipes, water cylinders, and sanitary fixtures. The course emphasizes ethical and legal work practices, hazard identification, and industry health and safety standards. Students also receive first aid certification as part of the training.

What you need to know first

Applicants must be able to carry out the physical requirements of the programme.

Under 20 years: 10 credits NCEA level 1 numeracy and 10 credits NCEA level 1 literacy or equivalent.

Over 20 years: Open entry.
