Cover all aspects of carpentry, such as interiors, exteriors, joinery, envelope, support structures, and concrete construction.

Develop practical skills through on-the-job training with your employer, guided and assessed by tutors.
This part-time, four-year apprenticeship programme is designed for those employed in the building industry seeking a formal carpentry trade qualification. You will train under the guidance of your employer or supervisor while receiving support and regular assessment from Toi Ohomai tutors. The course combines on-the-job learning with three annual week-long block courses for the first three years. It covers core carpentry skills needed for a qualified carpenter, including interiors, exteriors, structures, and additions. On completion, you will be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4).
