Understand the importance of safe forklift operation
Learners will understand core safety principles and legal responsibilities when operating a forklift in workplace and public settings.

Perform pre-operational inspections and start up procedures
Participants will learn to check and prepare a forklift before use according to approved checklists and protocols.

Demonstrate practical forklift skills including basic maneuvers
Learners will perform essential forklift movements, including parking and shutting down, in compliance with industry standards.
What You're Signing Up For
This course equips learners with the safe operation of forklifts in the workplace and on the road, meeting both NZTA and NZQA requirements. Participants will attain critical skills in safe forklift use, perform practical tasks, and gain the F endorsement for road use as well as certification for workplace operation. The programme is suitable for anyone needing to drive a forklift to meet occupational safety and health requirements.

What you need to know first
Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level.
Physically able to complete the programme-specific outcomes.
For F endorsement: Must hold a minimum of a Full Class 1 driver's licence.
OSH Forklift Certificate only available for unlicensed operators on request.
