- New Zealand building legislation and regulatory framework (including the Building Act 2004, NZ Building Code, Acceptable Solutions, Verification Methods, and relevant Standards)
- Building consent and regulatory approval processes
- Technical and administrative aspects of building compliance
- Checking building regulatory documentation
- Handling and escalating consent-related enquiries
- Communication with the public, customers, and colleagues
- Record keeping and completion of regulatory forms
- Industry relevant practical skills and workplace readiness
What you need to know first
Minimum of four years' secondary education
Minimum of 10 NCEA credits in English and 10 NCEA credits in Mathematics at Level 1 or above, or equivalent
Completion of an appropriate qualification at Level 3 or above or relevant work experience in a building control environment
If English is not your first language, evidence of sufficient English language competence required
