Understand methamphetamine contamination in NZ properties
Learners will understand the risks, implications, and standards regarding methamphetamine contamination of properties in New Zealand.
Apply NZS 8510:2017 standards for screening
Learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of the NZS 8510:2017 standard for methamphetamine screening and sampling.
Conduct methamphetamine screening and sampling
Learners will carry out screening sampling and assessment procedures on properties or vehicles and report on findings, through practical demonstration and written assessment.

This micro-credential, developed by Careerforce, certifies individuals who provide methamphetamine screening and sampling services. It is aimed at employees of organisations offering meth contamination testing for properties and vehicles. Assessment is via three key unit standards related to meth contamination, in compliance with NZS 8510:2017, and is delivered through workplace-based and online methods with support from partner employers active in the cleaning and remediation industry.
Course Content
- Demonstrate knowledge of methamphetamine contamination of property in New Zealand (Unit Standard 30892)
- Demonstrate knowledge of methamphetamine screening sampling in accordance with NZS 8510:2017 (Unit Standard 30893)
- Carry out methamphetamine screening sampling and assessment on property (Unit Standard 30894)
