What You're Signing Up For
This programme prepares students to take on roles in cloud administration, cloud security, data engineering, and multi-cloud project implementation. Over 32 weeks (full-time) or 64 weeks (part-time), students gain practical experience with public cloud infrastructure, automating IT services, designing scalable solutions, and managing cybersecurity risks in contemporary business environments. The course covers hands-on projects, real-world problem solving, and offers opportunities to pursue top industry certifications. All required software is provided, with students required to provide their own suitable devices.
Course Content
- Public Cloud Administration: Managing and configuring public cloud infrastructure, virtualised environments, deployment best practices.
- Data Engineering in Public Cloud: Building high-performance data pipelines, cloud-based storage, ETL, data governance, real-time analytics.
- Cybersecurity in Cloud: Securing cloud infrastructure, encryption, compliance, threat mitigation, incident response, risk assessment.
- Multi-Cloud Security Integration and Project Management: Security best practices, identity and access management, multi-cloud threat detection, hands-on industry project.
- Project Management: Applying industry best practices in team collaboration and project delivery.
- Software & Equipment: AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, Microsoft Azure Labs, Cisco Packet Tracer, Fortinet Security Solutions.
- Hands-on industry project with real-world security challenges.
What you need to know first
Age 17+ for domestic; 18+ for international applicants.
NZ Certificate in Information Technology (Level 5) or equivalent (e.g., IT Technical Support L5, Web Development and Design L5).
Equivalent overseas qualifications accepted.
Portfolio of work for those lacking L5 qualification.
Competency in computing and IT skills.
International: English language proficiency (IELTS 6.0, no band below 5.5).
