This micro-credential provides hands-on skills in ethical hacking intervention, protection, recovery, and prevention for organisational networks, applications, and devices, contextualised for New Zealand's IT sector. It is designed for adults with IT industry experience in information security/network security seeking upskilling, or school leavers with relevant IT background. Learners will use webinars, asynchronous modules, and iLab activities to prepare for industry-aligned ethical hacking practices.

What you need to know first

Basic IT and information security/network security knowledge equivalent to level 5 or above or related work experience.

Preferably those with a Bachelor degree or diploma in IT.

Able to perform basic IT tasks such as installing software, using operating systems (Windows or Linux), creating and supporting a basic network.
