What You're Signing Up For

This two-year full-time NZQA Level 6 diploma provides hands-on training to develop the technical knowledge and skills required for a career as a civil engineering technician. Students will learn how to plan, design, and manage construction of various infrastructure including buildings, roads, rail, dams, and bridges. The programme features small class sizes, industry projects, and practical experiences in both the classroom and the field.

What you need to know first

NCEA Level 2 with at least 48 credits at Level 2 in four subjects including at least 12 credits in mathematics (preferably algebra, calculus or trigonometry)

Equivalent qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate or Cambridge)

Equivalent credits from appropriate trades training and/or demonstrated skills and experience

Minimum 10 literacy credits at Level 1 or higher (for those who achieved NCEA Level 2 before 2013)
