What You're Signing Up For
The New Zealand Certificate in Study and Employment Pathways (Level 4) at Toi Ohomai is designed to support learners who do not yet meet entry criteria for diploma or degree programmes, or who require confidence-building for higher-level study. Through dedicated pathway support, students develop tertiary study skills, build communication competence, and can select targeted papers linked to their intended future studies. Graduates are equipped to transition into degree and diploma options in fields such as teaching, engineering, social work, business, management, sport, surveying, and more.

- Building Communication Competence
- Introduction to the Biophysical Basis of Health (recommended for Bachelor of Nursing)
- Human Development across the Lifespan (recommended for Bachelor of Nursing)
What you need to know first
A minimum of 40 credits at NCEA Level 2 across four subjects, including literacy (10 credits at Level 2 or above, with 5 credits in reading and 5 in writing) and numeracy (10 credits at Level 1 or above, or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627)
Admission via interview with Programme Manager possible
No minimum academic requirements for applicants aged 20 or over
