What You're Signing Up For

The Master of Management (MMgmt) prepares graduates for leadership roles across a range of business sectors in New Zealand and internationally. The programme develops essential management skills, business acumen, and analytical capabilities tailored to complex, competitive, and culturally diverse environments. Students select a specialist pathway and study core management themes, specialist papers, and hands-on projects, culminating in an applied research project and a capstone paper addressing contemporary management challenges. The programme is suited to recent graduates and professionals from any background who wish to advance their management careers.

  • Specialist subject papers in Agribusiness, Business Analytics, Marketing, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management
  • MNGMT561 Intercultural Perspectives on Organisations for Managers
  • Management core papers (choose four): Communication and Collaboration in Organisations, Leadership and Change Management, Sustainability and Responsible Management, Economics and the Global Context, Strategic Management and Decision Making, Marketing Strategy, Digital Business and Supply Chain Management, Financial Analysis, Managing Innovation and Value Creation
  • MNGMT562 Contemporary and Future Issues in Context (Capstone)
  • MNGMT563 High Impact Applied Project (Applied Research Paper)
  • Industry exposure through real-world projects and case studies

What you need to know first

A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any field with at least a B-minus grade average across 300-level papers

Or relevant previous work experience or evidence of academic success (case-by-case assessment)

Not suitable for students who already hold an undergraduate degree or postgraduate diploma in the same subject as the chosen specialisation
