What You're Signing Up For

Working in business requires a broad skillset. Gain the skills and knowledge you need to excel in any office administration role in UCOL New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology). You'll develop technical and administrative skills that can contribute to improving performance and productivity. This qualification consists of 60 credits covering Administrative Systems, Specialist Documents, Workplace knowledge, and Business Information. Work experience of 35 hours in an office environment is required. Graduates can work in roles such as office manager, senior receptionist, personal assistant, and call centre operator.

Course Content

  • Administrative Systems (15 credits): Provide, improve and maintain administration services to meet business requirements.
  • Specialist Documents (15 credits): Process data and produce specialist documents for business information.
  • Workplace Knowledge (15 credits): Deliver professional customer services and develop teamwork skills.
  • Business Information (15 credits): Develop technical skills and financial calculations to produce comprehensive business information.
  • 35 hours of work experience in an office environment.

What you need to know first

40 credits at NCEA Level 1, including 10 Literacy credits and 10 Numeracy credits; or relevant qualification at NZQF Level 2 or above; or recognised equivalent.

IELTS score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5 (for international applicants)
