What You're Signing Up For

Subject to NZQA approval. Gain key HR skills including recruitment, health and safety, and learning and development. This programme is designed for individuals who want to develop or formalize their HR skills and knowledge, providing recognized qualifications and pathways to further study such as entry to the second year of the Bachelor of Applied Management. It covers analysis of operational business environments, application of principles in operations, accounting, marketing/sales, HR, risk management, innovation, and compliance with the Treaty of Waitangi in business contexts. The course includes knowledge and practices in HR functions like recruitment, performance management, and effective communication within ethical frameworks. Delivery is online with regional support and includes local workshops. It is not open to international students.

What you need to know first

Be at least 16 years old at start date

Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills

IELTS score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5 (for non-native English speakers)

NCEA Level 2 or equivalent, or approved Level 3 qualification or higher
