What You're Signing Up For

This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of native plant identification. You will learn to use a range of resources to identify native plants, understand which plant parts are useful for identification, and the correct terminology. By the end of the course, you will have the skills to complete field notes, take specimens, and use identification techniques. Workshops are delivered at multiple locations and dates, developed in collaboration with the New Zealand Plant Conservation Network and the Department of Conservation.

What you need to know first

Under 20 years: Achieved NCEA Level 2 (credits in Numeracy, Science or English desirable)

20 years or over: No minimum academic requirements

All applicants: English sufficient for study at Level 4; IELTS Academic 5.5 or equivalent (if English not first language)
