Core skills this course teaches

Skin analysis and advanced treatment skills
Demonstrate advanced techniques in skin analysis, micro dermabrasion, and perform beauty therapy treatments to industry standards.

Electrolysis and electrotherapy proficiency
Safely conduct electrolysis and use electrotherapy devices suitable for a range of beauty therapy procedures.

Body therapy and massage competence
Provide advanced body massage and wrap treatments in accordance with professional standards.
What You're Signing Up For
This Level 5 diploma equips students with advanced beauty therapy skills including skin analysis, electrolysis, body massage, wraps, electrotherapy, and micro dermabrasion. Practical hands-on learning takes place in a professional salon environment, complemented by theoretical study in anatomy, physiology, client care, consultation, and applied salon management. Graduates are prepared for a wide range of roles in the beauty industry.

What you need to know first
Completion of New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) or equivalent knowledge, experience, and/or qualifications.
NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Māori or equivalent, with a minimum of 42 credits at Level 3, or evidence of ability to complete academic requirements.
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must meet English language competency requirements (IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5, or NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4, or other approved evidence).
