This practical, full-time course prepares students to work as qualified beauty therapists. Students learn beauty services such as facials, waxing, eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, makeup application, as well as manicures and pedicures. The course also covers customer service, sales, reception, cashiering, and foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and salon management. Training is delivered by local and internationally trained tutors, and students gain real-life experience in an on-site beauty clinic.

What you need to know first

NCEA Level 1 or equivalent OR

Completed New Zealand Certificate in Make Up and Skincare (Level 3) OR

Evidence of ability to complete academic requirements

English language competency may be required (IELTS 5.5 or NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4, or equivalent)
