It delivers comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge to master complex styling, cutting, colouring, and professional salon skills. Graduates gain hands-on experience with real clients in a commercial or campus salon environment, enabling them to work independently as professional hairstylists.

  • Sculpture: foundation cutting techniques with scissors, razor, clippers on diverse hair types
  • The art of advanced hair design: wet and dry advanced styling techniques
  • Reformation designs: performing reformation services on various hair types
  • Advanced colour design: consultation and performance of colour services
  • Fashion colour and sculpture: fashion cutting and colouring services, minimum 40 hours real-world context
  • Advanced client journey: integration of professional skills during client journey, reflection, engagement strategies
  • Advanced Grand Finale: avant-garde style creation and presentation to professional standard

What you need to know first

New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Level 3) or equivalent qualification

For international applicants: IELTS 5.5 with no band below 5 within previous 2 years or equivalent
