What You're Signing Up For

The NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist) at Level 4 is an industry-focused programme designed for those who already have foundational hairdressing skills and wish to upskill to become a qualified stylist. Students receive hands-on experience in advanced cutting, colouring, and styling techniques, develop client consultation and hair care planning skills, learn chemical reformation services, and work in salon operations. The course combines practical learning with live clients and a portfolio, guided by experienced tutors in a purpose-built salon environment.

What you need to know first

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older at commencement.

Completion of the NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) Level 3 or equivalent.

Secondary education to NCEA Level 1 or equivalent.

Acceptable overseas secondary education if applicable.

International students: English language proficiency at IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no band below 5.

An interview may be requested.

Demonstrated passion for hairdressing and commitment to skill development.
