What You're Signing Up For

The Bachelor of Radiation Therapy (BRT) at the University of Otago is a three-year, full-time programme taught at the Wellington campus with clinical placements around New Zealand. The degree prepares graduates for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board and a professional career as a radiation therapist, a highly skilled health profession in demand due to cancer prevalence. The programme integrates coursework in health science, technology, patient care, and clinical practice. Entry is competitive and open to domestic students via multiple pathways, including directly from secondary school (with appropriate NCEA credits), after university study, or as graduates. International students are not currently eligible to apply.

What you need to know first

NZQA Level 3 (NCEA Level 3) with at least 14 credits in Mathematics or Statistics or Calculus, and Physics or Biology

NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) completed within the last five years

Alternatively, relevant university study within the last five years (one year or more) with minimum academic standing

Bachelor's degree for graduate entry (specific criteria apply)

Applicants may be required to attend an interview

Applicants must be domestic students (international students are not eligible)
