What You're Signing Up For

The Otago Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPhty) is a distinguished four-year degree that begins with a Health Sciences First Year course, followed by three years of focused physiotherapy education through lectures, laboratory sessions, and extensive community and clinical practice. Graduates are prepared to apply for registration as physiotherapists with the New Zealand Physiotherapy Board. The degree emphasizes hands-on impact, strong community connections, and engagement with healthcare innovation.

What you need to know first

Health Sciences First Year course at the University of Otago (with at least 60% average in best seven papers), or equivalent university study as per admissions regulations

Selection by the Physiotherapy Admissions Committee based on academic performance and relevant attributes

Recognition for applicants in equity groups (Māori, Pacific, rural, socioeconomic, refugee background) may apply
