What You're Signing Up For

The Master of Health Practice at AUT is ideal for health professionals looking to take the next step in their career. The flexible course structure allows students to select specialisations and courses that reflect their needs and interests. Candidates require at least three years of clinical experience and a relevant undergraduate qualification. The programme is available full-time (1.5 years) or part-time at AUT's North and South Campuses, and offers advanced study options in a broad range of allied health areas.

  • Choose from specialisations in: Child Health, Māori Health, Mental Health and Addictions, Midwifery, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Nursing, Paramedicine, Podiatry, Rehabilitation, Violence and Trauma Studies
  • Advanced clinical practice
  • Research methods and evidence-based practice
  • Specialist papers according to area of focus
  • Option to undertake coursework that supports personal career development

What you need to know first

Relevant bachelor's degree with B grade average or higher

Relevant graduate diploma

Relevant professional qualification

At least three years of relevant professional experience

May be required to complete prerequisite papers depending on specialisation

May be required to provide evidence of current professional practice

May be subject to Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act or Children's Act requirements
