What You're Signing Up For

This STAR course is intended for NZ secondary school students and introduces them to the fitness and sports industry. The programme covers key topics like nutrients and nutrition, community recreation, and the basics of the human body and movement during exercise and stretching. It aims to support early interest in health, fitness, and recreational careers.

Course Content

  • Demonstrate knowledge of micro and macro nutrients and nutritional imbalances (US6571, Level 3, 5 credits)
  • Describe benefits of participation in recreation in the local community (US27299, Level 2, 2 credits)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the human body and its movement during exercise and stretching (US30636, Level 3, 7 credits)

What you need to know first

Enrolment must be via the school's nominated STAR/Gateway co-ordinator.

Only available to NZ secondary school students.
