Clinical Psychology is a branch of psychology concerned with the assessment and treatment of mental illness and behavioural problems. The University of Auckland's Clinical Psychology programme, based on the Scientist Practitioner Model, trains students to recognise and adapt psychological practices to suit individual client needs, especially within the context of Aotearoa New Zealand. The programme is restricted to New Zealand and Australian citizens/permanent residents, emphasises research, and addresses cultural, social, and economic origins of mental health issues, reflecting the university's commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
