What You're Signing Up For

The Graduate Diploma at the University of Waikato is an undergraduate-level qualification designed for students who already have a bachelor's degree and wish to develop knowledge and skills in a new subject area. The programme is equivalent to a major in your chosen field and can be completed in one year of full-time study. It provides a pathway for graduates to change careers, professionally upskill, or prepare for further postgraduate study. Students complete 120 points, including at least 75 points at 300 level, in a subject ranging from arts, sciences, business, engineering, and more.

Course Content

  • Eight papers (120 points) required
  • At least six papers (90 points) in chosen subject
  • Up to three papers (45 points) at 100 level or above
  • At least five papers (75 points) at 300 level
  • Flexible subject selection from across more than ten faculties and schools

A bachelor's degree; or
